  • "What is joining/sewing?"

    "Joining" is a technique for joining pieces of wood parallel to the direction of the wood grain.

    Because the joining process takes into account the twisting and warping of the wood, the resulting material is relatively stable with less warping. This allows for the effective reuse of materials that would otherwise be discarded, and enables us to encounter the diverse and interwoven grain patterns of the wood.

  • Handling

    【maintenance】

    This product has an oil finish, so it requires regular maintenance. If the surface becomes dry or whitish with use, apply oil to soak it in. Drying oils such as walnut oil or linseed oil are recommended.

    If you're only using it to cut or place bread, simply brushing off any crumbs is sufficient. The oil from the bread absorbs into the wood, providing good nourishment. Therefore, you don't need to wash it every time like you would a ceramic plate. If you do need to wash it, use a mild detergent, wipe off any moisture thoroughly afterward, and then stand it upright to air dry in the shade.
