      A cutting board made by taking advantage of the characteristics of Japanese soft cedar and the advantages of irregularly generated offcuts. By aligning the directions of the annual rings and repeating joining, a uniform and beautiful pattern emerges in the non-uniformity. This annual ring, which also has an auspicious impression, will entertain our lives with various expressions from various angles as each piece of wood changes, and will gradually teach us the charm of waste wood.

    • What is "Koguchi"

      "Koguchi" refers to the surface cut at right angles to the fiber direction of the wood (the surface where the annual rings can be seen).
      And since the tree supplied more nutrients from the ground when it grew, the fiber structure is straw-like. Since the surface of this cutting board has the "kiguchi" facing up, countless fine straw-shaped mouths are facing up.
      This allows a much larger amount of oil (wood protection) to penetrate into the board than usual.
      In addition, because the fibers are facing upward, the wood fibers are not cut when the blade is inserted, so the board surface is not easily damaged.

      Since fine materials are joined one by one, warping and twisting peculiar to wood are less likely to occur, and it can be used more stably.

      Since this product has an oil finish, regular maintenance is required. If the surface becomes dry or whitish as you use it, soak it in oil. We recommend walnut oil and flaxseed oil, which are drying oils.

      As long as you cut or put the bread on it, you only need to remove the bread scraps. Soaking in the oil of bread is also a good nutrient for trees. Therefore, you don't have to wash it like a pottery dish each time. When cleaning, wash with a thin neutral detergent, and after cleaning, wipe off the water well and dry in the shade.
